FUNDRAISING

Many churches are able to operate only because of the generous gifts of others. However, often churches also find a need to raise funds to supplement the gifts from their members.

Fundraising at St. Stephen's Memorial Anglican Church has taken on many different forms and members and non-members alike are invited to participate in the following events and programs that fundraise for our Church so that we might continue offering ministries to our members and broader community.

If you are interested in running a fundraising event or program at St. Stephen's, please contact the Office Administrator for a Fundraising Form that must be completed and accepted by Parish Council before you may begin.

Shop and Support Program

The Shop and Support Program is an easy fundraising project that doesn't cost parishioners anything!

Purchase gift certificates and/or shopping cards from national chain restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores and more! You purchase them at face value from St. Stephen's Memorial Anglican Church and the Church receives a percentage from each card (because we are able to buy them at a discounted price).

Shop and Support Order Forms are available at the back of the Church or from the Office Administrator.

Regularly scheduled order dates will be the

SUNDAYS: July 6, August 10, September 7

 

Turn in your order form and cheque (to St. Stephen's) by the first Sunday to the Office Administrator, to Marnie or place it in the white church. Your order should be ready for pick up on the following Sunday.

The Great Penny Hunt

Congratulations!

After 6 months (September to March) of  collecting your pennies (and coins, bills and cheques) we have found a total of 486,133 or almost $5,000.00 (half a million pennies).

This money will be used to replace the money spent on the new rooftop heating and cooling unit. We did successfully raise more than half the cost of this unit.

Thank you to EVERYONE that participated - every penny really did count!

Fundraising Total:

  85,868 Pennies
400,265 Other (coin, cash, cheques)
486,133 TOTAL!!! which is $4,861.33

Annual Flower Sale

Spring is almost here... time to start planning your garden with the St. Stephen's Memorial Annual Flower Sale!

Payment is due when you Pick Up your flowers.

PICK UP TIMES:          Friday, May 9th between 7 and 9 pm 
                                   Saturday, May 10th between 8:30 am and 12 noon
                                   at St. Stephen's Memorial (downstairs in the large hall).

Pancake Supper

Join us on Shrove Tuesday for a Pancake Supper. This annual event takes place the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday in February. 

Tickets can be bought in advance on Sundays or during Office Hours (Mon-Fri AM). Some tickets may be available at the door. Ticket prices for 2008 were Adults $5, Children $3.

Caribbean Night

Join us for Caribbean Night ~ good food and great entertainment featuring a steel band!

This event is usually held in late February.

Tickets should be purchased in advance on Sundays or during Office Hours (Mon-Fri AM). Ticket prices are $6 per adult, $3 per child.

This is a Pot Luck Supper - please bring your favourite dish to pass.

Annual Yard Sale

Each June, parishioners and community members donate unwanted items for a large Annual Yard Sale. It is usually held on the first or second Saturday of June and is held rain or shine from 8 am to 12 noon. Admission is free and bargains are easy to find!

Donations of items are accepted in the weeks prior to the Yard Sale and volunteers are needed on the Friday and Saturday. Please contact the Office Administrator for more information.

Roast Beef Supper and Silent Auction

Join us for in October for a Roast Beef Supper with a Silent Auction.

Roast Beef on a Bun, Salads, Desserts, Tea & Coffee for $5 a person. Advance Tickets ONLY! Tickets available on Sundays or through the office.

Annual Christmas Bazaar 

Late November or early December brings the Annual Christmas Bazaar at St. Stephen's Memorial Anglican Church. It features homemade treats and canned goods, arts and crafts, books, children's items and so much more!

Admission: $1 includes a homemade treat and hot beverage and a door prize ticket.

Donations and volunteers are always needed. Please contact the Office Administrator for more information.
